Revisiting the Guarantees of the Bio-Political Sovereignty of the Russian Federation

The presented research is aimed at studying modern risk factors and threats to the biological security of the Russian Federation. Also, the authors, analyzing the institutional framework for ensuring the biosecurity of the state, consider the level of development of Russia's biological sovereignty. Within the framework of a system-structural approach, in the study of the topic, the authors resort to comparative analysis, identifying the pros and cons of other states approaches to ensuring biological security. The study identifies the institutional foundations for ensuring the biological sovereignty of the Russian Federation, categorizes the levels and types of threats to national security in the context of the actualization of a significant number of bio-political problems. The study also reveals the key threats, weaknesses and strengths of the biological security system of the Russian Federation, and also suggests options for strengthening it in order to increase the level of ensuring full-fledged biological sovereignty.
