Convention on the Caspian Sea in the Regional System of International Relations: Interests and Models of Cooperation

Abstract

The article tackles upon the issue of the system of relations between states within the framework of the regional subsystem of international relations of the Caspian region. In the context of the conclusion of the convention on the Caspian Sea, which has various interested parties pursuing integration and disintegration goals within the region, the question arises about the development of international trade and economic cooperation in the context of regional problems. The authors systematize the existing goals and mechanisms of implementation of the Convention on the Caspian Sea among the interested parties, as well as widely publicize transport and other infrastructure projects implemented with the participation of these countries in the Caspian Sea. The authors draw a general conclusion about the importance of the stability of the Caspian region for Eurasia as a whole, and particular conclusion about the impact of the signing of the convention on the processes within the region.
