COVID-19 as a factor of influence on the functioning of the regional subsystem of international relations in the Middle East in 2019–2022

The article discusses the features of the functioning of the regional subsystem of international relations of the Middle East Region in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The consequences of the pandemic are viewed as a complex impact on the social, political and economic spheres of the countries of the region, since their interdependence forms a generalized influence on the subsystem of international relations. The study aims to analyze how COVID-19 has affected the functioning of the regional subsystem of the Middle East. The topic of the impact of the pandemic on regional conflicts is considered separately. The factors that determined the pace and dynamics of the spread of coronavirus infection, as well as its role in increasing conflict in the region are systematized. The conclusion is made about the cumulative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the social and political spheres, which has led to increased political instability, civil unrest and radicalization of the general population. According to the results of the study, COVID-19 has become an aggravating factor that contributed to the actualization of contradictions in the region, both domestic and international. Considering the pandemic as the only or main factor causing conflict in the region is not appropriate, but its impact on internal processes is extremely high.
