Realities of the Modern Arctic: Features of the Policy of New NATO Members and the Russia's Approaches to Resolving Security Problems

The study shows that Finland and Sweden joining the North Atlantic Alliance has created a new problem in the sphere of national and international security. The successful experience of pursuing a policy of neutrality has proven useless despite the fact that it still has value for such European countries as Austria, Ireland or Switzerland. The rejection of historical experience and memory is the rejection of those bonds of activity on the basis of which positive and negative images/actions of politicians are formed. The discrepancies between hidden agreements and declared principles observed on the path of Sweden and Finland joining NATO indicate that their elites strategically incorrectly assess their capabilities, misleading the population when solving security problems.
