QUAD as an Element of U.S. Foreign Policy in the Indo-Pacific Region in the 21st Century

The article is devoted to the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, also known as QUAD, and the role it has in Washington's foreign policy planning in the Indo-Pacific Region in the 21st century. The initiative created at the beginning of this century to ensure the national interests of the United States in the re-gion, was curtailed in order to stabilize U.S.-China relations. After the revival of the format by the Trump administration, QUAD is constantly mentioned in the statutory foreign policy documents and concepts of the United States, which demonstrates the importance of the platform in analyzing Ameri-can policy in the Indo-Pacific Region. Despite the fact that QUAD is not a classic defensive alliance, cooperation within the framework of maritime navigation, the development of advanced technologies, the fight against natural disasters and the effects of climate change make it an important element of international security for Washington, as noted in the reports of U.S. think tanks. QUAD is a part of a larger Washington security architecture and its development is likely to continue along the track al-ready set.
