Chinese Policy in Africa: Problems and Trends

Abstract

Africa is one of the least developed regions of the world. To date, a number of countries on the continent do not have their own economy. China, on the other hand, is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, with an active interest in African countries. This is an interesting phenomenon and its study is necessary in order to determine what goals the PRC is pursuing in its foreign policy. This article is devoted to the problem of identifying the main features of China's foreign policy and translating the identified mechanisms and tools to the situation with the Chinese presence in Africa. The main results of the study were the conclusions that China primarily pursues economic interests in Africa, while the political advantages it receives as a result of expansion to the black continent are secondary. Chinese companies play a very important role in the expansion of the PRC to Africa, creating a synergistic effect for the further actions of the Chinese side, they serve as the main conductor of the will of the PRC in the region. The consequences of this phenomenon are quite contradictory, on the one hand, Africa will develop faster and many social problems will be solved, on the other hand, inequality on the continent will increase and the likelihood of military clashes will increase.
