Эволюция термина «сикофант» в контексте политизации судебной системы Афин V–IV вв. до н. э.

Цель исследования – проследить, как менялось содержание термина «сикофант» с момента первого его употребления в комедиях Аристофана, и выявить факторы, способствовавшие расширению его значения. Для этого анализируется этимология и самые ранние примеры его использования в комедиях Аристофана последней трети V в. до н. э. Делаются выводы о сближении в источниках образов сикофанта и демагога. Рассматриваются примеры участия профессиональных обвинителей в политических процессах конца V в. до н. э., за этим следует анализ употребления исследуемого понятия в фрагменте речи Гиперида «Против Дионда» из Архимедова палимпсеста. В результате делается заключение, что по мере все большей политизации судебной системы не использовавшееся в V в. до н. э. в контексте политических преследований слово «сикофант» во второй половине IV в. до н. э. начинает применяться к тем, кто систематически обращается в суд в борьбе со своими политическими оппонентами.
